Minns Bridge Closure

Norfolk County Council has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting Earsham Dam from a point 25m west of Minns Bridge in an easterly direction for a distance of 75m (over Minns Bridge) because of major maintenance work on bridge deck. The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 4th March 2013 to 5th April 2013 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 weeks within the period.

The recommended alternative route is via:- The Street, A143 Bungay Road/junction Clays roundabout, A144 Broad Street/Market Place/Chaucer Street/Popson Street, Earsham Street (a map of this proposed alternative route is on the parish notice board). Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained over the bridge for the duration of the scheme. Bus services to Earsham will be maintained although the pick-up points may need to change temporarily to allow buses to turn around in the village, which may be outside the Queen’s Head. The school bus will not be significantly affected.
